Aster and Maz (& Auggie)

Our fun activities: Swimming in lakes and rivers, camping, hiking, going to see live music, dance parties, traveling, hosting dinner parties, gardening, studying astrology, playing piano, reading (fiction, biographies, social movements) and singing karaoke with friends.

Favorite meals: We love good food!  Home-cooked meals, hot wings, sushi, taqueria, Indian, pizza, Thai, Vietnamese, and Maz's famous lasagna.  Our favorite meals are ones we share with chosen family and loved ones.

Can't live without: Each other, our pets, our LGBTQ+ community, our family (includes chosen family), friendships that have lasted decades and time outdoors.

Favorite place: Joshua Tree National Park, British Columbia (where Maz is from), our backyard, a saltwater swimming pool or natural hot springs.

Best day ever: The day our first child came home to us through open adoption, the day of our first date and the day Maz's citizenship in the US was finalized.

Favorite family traditions: Attending Pride community events, hosting a huge Winter Solstice dinner every year, our annual camping trip in summer and going to Palm Springs every year. We love to celebrate each other's birthdays and successes.
